So thats why DJ’s sometimes put the turntables that way!
I switched to a battle position in 2005.
For me it was more about “downsizing” my equipment. Before that I was using 2 Technics 1210’s a 19″ mixer and a dual Denon CD player with the controller above the mixer.
After switching to Traktor/FinalScratch, I didn’t need the CD player anymore. If I had a CD, I could play it from my computer if I had to.
Also switched to a 10″ mixer.
So less gear and the turntables are closer together.

we need help.
thanks a lot….
love the daft punk dafunk single!!!
Yer but how would you use your pitch control on your decks?
another reason is that on some turntables there are two buttons on the turntables meaning easy reach
DJ CASH MONEY 86′ DMC IIRC was the first to put em’ the long way. And fucking wrecked shit..
AS far as using the pitch you get used to your setup. It’s like playing them if you’re doing all that DJ SKRATCHPIKILZDMC type stuff. With the right needle/tonearm adjustments, you can have an almost impossible for the record to skip setup. Unless there’s a canyon sized scratch on it…Yep fun stuff….
i have technics
thanks man, very helpful. ive learned something new today ;D
you’re twisting my melon man
this is like dj for the special ed
cool shit man thanks I enjoyed it
the position is cool but the pitch control is away from you
Sweet DAFT PUNK track!
dude i scratch and have my set up like this and i find it easyier to mix this way it took a while to get used to but you have a lot more control plus you tap the pitch fader fom left or right and my more accurate with it give it a try
dude it works out easyier when you r used to it you tap it left or right and be really fine with it
Thanks..
nice daft punk man but u need to get some crydamoure records on that table.
stay away from scratching m8
Na, thats more of an adaption that turntable companies made for people using this position.
Another thing is the actual platters are closer and more evenly spaced appose to the one on the left being close to the mixer and the one on the right with space for the tone arm and pitch ctrl making it a few inches further away and uneven.
cheeky bastard asking for a mixer
what turntables do u hav at the moment, just wonderin i am a beginner n ive racked up enough money for turntables, mixer and i want to be able to use my computer, ive been looking at technics, wat do u recomend?
Thanks
